Leadership Training Camp
Day 1 of LTC Camp:
Had that feeling not to go for this camp but in the end I went. I must say that this is the camp that made me laugh throughout the three whole days.. The instructors were so funny since the start of day one. Ee started joking with some of our names and the others taughts us some team dynamics such as cheers and claps. Erm.. we learn the macho clap, lame clap, sotong clap, 11clap, 55 clap, 15clap and woo... Due to afternoon sleeping syndrome, they have been doing stuff that make us laugh.. They even come out with the 'I don't care' action!! We did one ice-breaker game which requires me to tie my hands with a string and Iris pair up with me. We need to think of a way to separate ourself and we can't!! Argh~ Finally got the trick, yippee!! I was in the 'gracious' grp which consists of Loshana, Manglapriya, Su Han, Yi Xuan, Amni, Rachel, Jasmine, Me, Iris, Hui Sei, Shannon, Melissa Liu, Joanne and Cecilia and we played the peanut game: 'Where's the peanut, where's the peanut, where's the peanut just now...' and then the game which involves us to 'bomb' the other teams. Next up, Team-bonding games.. We went to Nemo's (one of the instructors nickname) section which require us to use strings to lift up 3 bottles and pour the water into a plate. I couldn't really think of any ideas at that point of time.. Then we proceed on to D's section where all of us had to be blindfolded except melissa and she signal us where to with while holding on to the rope and this can form into a shape. It was really hard to hear what she say as everyone is making lots of noise but we still tried our best and complete. After that, we went to the 'turn over a new leaf' section and we had to squeeze into a mat and turn it over without moving out of the mat.. Amni was eaten by the 'crocodiles' a few times!! Lastly, we did the 'Traffic Jam' game which requires us to plan before moving and we did it!! Then it was lunch and we need to do a few times of roll call (everyone in the canteen was like staring at us), then pray, then say 'Instructors eat, teacher's eat and everybody eat'!! We were back in the library and we need to set up a company with a slogan and logo, then need to do a checklist, logistics.. We did the Bear R'us company and we are a rich company, Hahah!! There were lawyers, pilots and toy companies which are done by other groups. I was amazed by the fact that the instructors can actually link all the companies together, WOW!! We end the day at 6pm..
Day 2 of LTC Camp:
Did Morning Exercise and cheer plus some claps before starting the day. They taught us a food cheer which goes 'hungry,hungry, very, very, hungry very, very hungry...' and the 'Are u ready, ever ready, SJC Spirit gonna fight...' Then we proceed on to plan TBG for Sec Ones'08. We shared how we feel when we were sec one's and opinions on the Senglang Trail. Then it was lunchtime and we had to do roll call, cheer, pray, and had to say lots of stuff before eating.. Everyone were hungry!! Back to the I&E room, I was so damn lame.. Then back to the library to had a trial for 4 games. First, the alphabet game, then caterpillar, then Tarzan.., and lastly the untanglement(Is this how u spell?!?!). Had lots of fun. The instructors taught us lots of skills to present ourselves in front of everyone and indeed the skills were useful. Then we were taught how to communicate using the walkie-talkie. We went for a Sengkang Trail and back to school for dinner. It was a buffet, yummy!! Mrs Ong want all the bags to be transferred from the library to the gym, finished all the veggie, make sure the canteen is clean, do roll call to double check everyone is here within a short period of time.. I had to run and move bags.. Argh~ Then went for mock campfire and learn how to setup. Next up, we learn camp cheers and I seriously cannot memorise all of them.. HELP!! We proceed on with night activities where we need to be blindfolded and hold on to the person in front and walk a distance. Down the steps, up the steps, turn here and there and we finally reached our destination; Fitness corner!! Then proceed on for wash up and then supper and slept at 12am.. Happy Halloween!!
Day 3 of LTC Camp:
It was cold in the gym as it rains, did morning excercise and then proceed for breakfast, it was prata, yeah, yummy!! Then back to the library for lessons. We try out with more TBG games and then we were assigned with jobs.. Later on, certificate presentation, and Mrs Chan gave us our certs.. She was amazed by our enthusiasm.. Then left for dance practice and I was so blur and tired. Then slept in the dance studio before heading home!! Finally had a long rest to prepare for Friday. We had lots of scoldings throughout the whole camp but at the same time, we also enjoyed ourselves. I learnt lots of skills and how to react in different situations. It was indeed a great experience.
Gonna go gym tmr after dance with Vann, seriously need to lose weight!!
